ANNUAL CHARITY CONTRIBUTION – “Combined Charity”
Each year at the annual Conclave, the Continental Societies, Incorporated presents 20% of the National Combined Charities Funds to a national organization serving children. The recipient is determined by mutual consent of the Executive Committee and the hosting chapter.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Continental Societies, Inc. Scholarship is awarded annually during the Conclave Awards Luncheon. The National Scholarship is awarded to deserving young people in the four regions of the Societies. Each year the organization provides:
- A non-renewable award to each of the four regional winners
- A renewable award to one national winner (renewable for three years, providing scholars fulfill the renewal criteria).
Eighty percent (80%) of the Combined Charities Funds are allocated to the National Scholarship Program.
PNPAC (Past National Presidents Advisory Council)
ANNUAL SHOES AND SOCKS DRIVE
This initiative began as an outreach project by the PNPAC, who felt it important to lead by example. The program quickly grew into an annual opportunity for all Continentals to make an impact on children in the Conclave host city. Each Continental sister attending Conclave is asked to bring one (or more) new items that will fit easily into their luggage. During the Black Tie Awards Gala, these child/youth-size socks and shoes are distributed to an identified agency that serves needy children in the host chapter’s area. |
